The Goddess of Love
Greek-Aphrodite Roman-Venus OLYMPIAN
Aphrodite was the goddess of love, beauty, and laughter. Her parents were Zeus and Dione, or Uranus. Her siblings are the Furies.
She was said to have formed from the body parts of Uranus when Cronus, Uranus's son, overthrew Uranus. Cronus tossed his father's arms and legs into the sea, and Aphrodite emerged in a foam of froth.
Zeus, her father, was the one who ordered Aphrodite to marry her husband, Hephaestus. They had three children; Eros, Aeneas, and Himeros.
Aphrodite had many friends and enemies. Her friends include Helen of Troy, Paris, Melanion, and The Graces. Her foes are Helios, Hera, Artemis, Hestia, and Athena.
Aphrodite possesses many attributes, achievements, and skills. She has the power to make anyone fall in love except for Hestia, Athena, and Artemis. In addition to that, the second planet from the sun, Venus, was named after her Roman name. Also, wherever she walks, flowers spring up from the ground. An achievement of hers is that she won a beauty contest that may have started a war.
