The God of War
Greek-Ares Roman-Mars OLYMPIAN
Ares was the god of the dark, bloody side of war. His parents were Zeus and Hera and his siblings are Eris and Hephaestus.
His children were Deimos, Phobos, Cycnus, Eros, and Hippolyte. Some of his daughters are Amazons, great warriors. Unfortunately, Heracles killed his son, Cycnus, to build a temple of skulls.
Ares had two friends; Hector and Hermes. His foes are The Aloadae, Helios, and Adonis.
The god of war was disliked among the gods and mortals because of his cowardly and blood-thirsty ways. His half-sister, Athena, was more respected because she was more strategic and not as violent during war. Once, two giants locked him in a bronze urn for thirteen months, until Hermes let him out. This caused more war, and no more peace.
