The Goddess of Harvest
Greek-Demeter Roman-Ceres OLYMPIAN
Demeter was the goddess of harvest, agriculture, and marriage. Her parents were Cronus and Rhea, and her siblings were Zeus, Hades, Poseidon, Hera, and Hestia.
The goddess of marriage never married, but had one child, Persephone. Unfortunately, Persephone was kidapped by Hades. This made Demeter extremely upset, and when her daughter was away, that would mean it was fall or winter because Demeter wasn't happy. But, when Persephone was allowed to visit her mother for six months, that would mean that it was spring or summer.
Demeter's friends are Philomelos, King Celeus, Triptolemus, and Demophon. Her enemies are Hades, Metarira, and Erysichthon.
The goddess of harvest played a very important role in the human society. She brought the seasons and gave grain to humans. But, her life wasn't perfect. She was swallowed at birth by her own father, but was saved by her brother, Zeus.
