The Goddess of Wisdom
Greek-Athena Roman-Minerva OLYMPIAN
Athena was the goddess of wisdom, handicrafts, welfare, and the strategic side of war. Her parents were Zeus and Metis. She had three siblings; Apollo, Artemis, and Ares.
Athena's allies included Nike, Odysseus, the Greek humans, Heracles, and Asclepius. Her foes are Arachne, Poseidon, Ares, The Trojans, and Hephaestus.
One of the most important achievements for Athena has been the creation of the olive tree during the competition for Athens against Poseidon. She won that competition with that one gift, which now represents her. The most interesting thing about the goddess of wisdom was that she popped out of her father's head! She was also Zeus's favorite child. In addition to that, Athena turned Arachne into a spider for bragging that she was a better sewer than herself, the goddess of handicrafts. Also, the use of her wisdom has been used to make the famous Trojan horse for the Trojan War. Athena's greatest temple was Parthenon.
