The Goddess of Rainbows
Greek-Iris Roman-Iris
Iris was the goddess of messages, communications, and rainbows. Her parents were Thaumas and Electra. Her siblings were The Harpies.
Iris and Zephyrus have a son named Pothos.
The goddess of messages had several allies that include Hera, Hermes, and Leto. Her foe is Demeter.
Iris was the messenger to the gods and mortals. But, in her goddess form, she could not deliver messages to the humans that way. In result, she takes on the form of someone the human knows. Iris was mostly Hera's messenger. Her job as the gods' messenger also requires her to get water from the River Styx when the Olympians need to swear an oath or find out if someone is lying. Iris's special power is that she creates rainbows as a bridge between the heavens and earth. She has also helped her sisters, The Harpies, by saving their lives. The Harpies were about to die because they were bothering Phineus, but Iris came to their rescue.
